The end of the 2014 season

WP_20141111_10_53_57_ProThank you to all of the participants of this year’s Nashua’s Veterans Day Parade and the rest of the 2014 season. We had new recruits, we had some great turnout to events, and we had some events that had wonderful weather, while others went on (or were cancelled) in a downpour.

Officer elections are next and an email went out to current members.

In Memorium

Dear members of 1st NH Regiment and Friends,
It is with a very heavy heart that I pass along the sad news that Norwood Keeney, past Commander, last Colonel, and Lifetime member of the 1st NH Regiment passed away this morning after a month long final battle with Lung Cancer. His son, Woody, who served for years as our Ensign, contacted me this afternoon and asked me to pass along the news. Norwood would have turned 90 this July. He served in the field well into his 70s. I know many of the long time members and friends have great stories about The Colonel. He was my friend and mentor and I spent many hours traveling with him inthe early 80s (That is a story in itself!). I will pass along details as I get them.

In the meantime, please keep Norwood, his wife Phyllis and his son Woody in your thoughts and prayers.

Jim Hayden

Gearing up for our 2014 season

This Sunday our members are meeting to vote on the events we’ll participate in this season. If you are an event organizer and are looking to hire us for an event this year, whether it is for an encampment, living history camp demonstration, or musket drilling or firing, you can still get a hold of us after Sunday. We’ll want to know what you’re interested in planning together and then have to report back to our members, to see if they’re available. We can offer a free quote for the event you’re having. Please let us know by contacting us on our contact page at the top of the website. Thanks!
